Each year in August over 200 people enjoy a full day of swimming, paddle boating, games, fishing, singing, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner at Fort Mountain State Park Beach. Each child is assigned a “water buddy” and chaperone to ensure the safety of our children. Teams prepare meals throughout the day and everyone enjoys a refreshing break away from the challenging environments in which they reside.
Partner with us in making this special day a huge success by donating the following items:
Hamburger Patties, Hot Dogs, Chicken (Breast, Thighs & Legs), Sodas and Bottled Water, Children’s Juice Drinks, Paper Products, Chips & Dip, Cookies, Little Debbie’s, Crackers, Water Toys & Flotation Devices, Ketchup, Mustard, Mayonnaise and Monetary Donations.
Christmas in the City
No child should suffer the disappointment of being left out at Christmas. Christmas in the City makes sure 100 children from our neighborhood are not forgotten bu asking donors to contribute $40 per child so that he or she may experience the joy and gratitude of Christmas. The event culminates with a holiday party that includes a visit for Santa and a world of food, surprises and fun. To become on eof the many elves needed to make this happen, visit our donation page and make a pledge. One child? Tow? Ten? Twenty? Santa loves helpers and so do we, sign on and make this part of your Christmas gift-giving plan.
Please note toys and donated items are also appreciated. Teenage gifts such as gift cards, make-up, hand bags, etc. are often in shortage during this time of year. Please consider your monetary donation or a gift item listed above as your contribution to one the “least of these” in need.
